The Camarillo Chamber of Commerce (California) announced the winners of its 51st Annual Top Ten Community Awards. The Community Awards recognize organizations and individuals whose deeds and actions have contributed to the betterment of Camarillo. ZPower was named Business of the Year.
ZPower opened in Camarillo in 1996 with the goal of innovating and commercializing rechargeable silver-zinc batteries for use in small battery applications. ZPower’s first commercial application is the award-winning rechargeable system for hearing aids, and starting in 2017, nearly every major hearing aid manufacturer is offering select products with ZPower rechargeable microbatteries built in. ZPower batteries offer the highest energy density and exceed the safety and environmental benefits of any other rechargeable microbattery on the market today. ZPower proudly manufactures all of its products at its headquarters in Camarillo, CA, where it employs over 275 people.
“We are extremely honored to receive this recognition from the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce,” said Ross Dueber, President and CEO of ZPower. “Over the last couple of years, ZPower’s rechargeable microbattery technology has steadily gained traction in the hearing aid market, which led to 2017 being our most successful year in history. We see this success as just the beginning; we are capitalizing on the momentum we’ve generated in the hearing aid market to establish our batteries as a power source for the greater wireless earbud market and small consumer electronics in general.”
ZPower, along with the other award winners, will be honored at the Celebrate the Camarillo Stars Gala and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 23, at Spanish Hills Country Club.
